The splinter accommodates a live/work space for a couple of skilled craftsmen and a communal space for the workers to interact with other members of the local community.

Located on a narrow site on Broadway Market in north east London, the planning of the building was carried out mainly in section. The owners residential areas are located on top of the communal space and the workshop taking up the full footprint of the ground floor.
