SpiruClimate
Year: 2017
Type of project: University
Typeology: Wellness centre
Location: London
Spiruclimate is a company specialised in the microalgae Spirulina. The building will house and provide all aspects of the cultivation and use of the crop within its shell structure. Spirulina grows in tanks, which will be used as cladding, letting the cultivation process heat up the building as well as displaying the use of it.
The building becomes an oasis in London, with cleaned air from the cultivation process and facilities for dermatology, spa and café selling the products that are harvested in the basement.
It becomes an artificial environment, cut off from its surroundings. This concept is communicated through the sky view on first floor, where all surroundings are cropped out of sight while maximising the view. here you can get up close to the algae tanks, feel its warmth and get away from the city, without leaving it.
